ApenninesAlmost no mountains are so beautiful as the Apennine Mountains in Piemonte and Liguria between the alps and the mediterranean sea. The Apennines are a mountain range consisting of parallel smaller chains extending c. 1,200 km along the length of peninsular Italy. In the northwest they join with the Ligurian Alps at Altare and also partly Piemonte (Piedmont). In the southwest they end at Reggio di Calabria, the coastal city at the tip of the peninsula. The Northern Apennines are the most beautiful and also perfectly located between Piemonte and Liguria with good food, wine and sea side close by.
Liguria and PiedmontWe will focus mostly on the northern part of the Apennine Mountains, due to its beauty and geographical location between Liguria and Piemonte.
